Morris Porter
Owner-Operator
At the helm of our operations is Owner-Operator Morris Porter, a proud resident of West Ashley with a proven track record of excellence. Since his arrival in 2016, Morris has overseen the successful completion of over 40 projects throughout Charleston. A graduate of Wofford College, where he honed his skills in finance and accounting, Morris's journey into construction began with the acquisition of his Residential Builders License.
With an unwavering commitment to quality and professionalism, Morris has cultivated a network of trusted designers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, enabling J.M. Porter Construction to seamlessly navigate every phase of a project, from planning and permitting to final execution.
Beyond the confines of the construction site, Morris finds joy in spending time with his wife, Hanna, their daughter Layla, and their cherished Boykin Spaniel, Cash.
Ethan Caldwell
Project Manager
Ethan is a Charleston native and 2021 graduate of Wando High School, where he was an individual state champion swimmer. He began his construction career in remodeling right after high school, quickly advancing from crew lead to project manager through his strong attention to detail and work ethic.
With hands-on field experience, Ethan brings a practical, solutions-driven approach to every project. He enjoys seeing projects transform from start to finish and takes pride in delivering high-quality results for clients.
Outside of work, Ethan enjoys boating with friends and credits his father for instilling his foundation in residential construction. His advice to others: work hard, stay focused, and improve every day.
